Non Intrusive Core Network Maintenance

Update(1:47am): Due to a configuration error, a subset of customers experienced 10-15 minutes of down time during this maintenance window. At this time, all services have been restored, and maintenance is now complete.

Monday, Jan 13, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on public peering interfaces at the edge of our network. Customers may experience a small period of network instability. Maintenance window is four hours.

Sonic Support Closing Early

Sonic Support will be closing early tomorrow, 12/31, at 5pm.

Our 24×7 network operations team will remain on call for our Enterprise, dedicated circuit and colocated customers.

Support will return Wednesday 1/1 to our normal working hours, 8am to 10pm.

Equipment Failure in Oakland

Update: 10:35 AM All service has been restored.

Update: 9:00 AM Sonic technician is on site. We are working on restoring service.

Equipment in Oakland that a subset of copper Fusion and Flexlink services are served off has failed. We are dispatching a technician out to replace the equipment.

Phone Switch Maintenance

Update: 12:30 AM Maintenance is complete.

Tonight 12/19/2019 at 11:59 PM we will be performing maintenance on our phone switch. No service interruptions is expected as a result of this maintenance.  The window for this maintenance is 2 hours.

Lata 1 Northern California Legacy DSL Outage

Update 12:40AM: Replacement of failed hardware has resolved the issue and all impacted customer connectivity should be restored.

Tonight just after 6:00pm, a piece of network infrastructure serving a subset of legacy DSL customers in northern California appears to have failed.  After lengthy investigation, we have identified the source of the issue and are currently working on a repair as quickly as possible. An update will provided when we have a timeline for resolution.

System Maintenance

Update: Maintenance complete.

Tonight beginning at 11pm we will be applying system updates to various systems including our VPN server.  Any downtime should be brief and we expect to complete the maintenance within 2 hours.

Sonic Core Router Maintenance

Update: 12:30 AM Maintenance is complete.

Thursday , December 19, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on core equipment in the northern California Sonic network. No customer impact is expected. This maintenance window is 4 hours.

San Francisco Service Disruption Cleared

The issues causing the service disruption for our San Francisco Fusion copper and FlexLink customers has been cleared. All voice and internet services should be restored. If you are still having any issues with your services please contact our support team.

Sonoma County Business Park Fiber Intrusive Maintenance

Update: 1:00AM – Maintenance successfully completed.  Customer downtime should have been limited to approximately 30 minutes.

Monday, December 16, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on equipment serving a subset of Business Park Fiber customers in Corporate Center/Northpoint business parks. Affected customers are expected to experience approximately 30 minutes of downtime. This maintenance window is 4 hours.
