Mon Jan 13 12:10:52 PST 2003 — We have added catch-all aliases to all remaining domains hosted on our servers that did not already have catch-all alias in place. This, and the modification of our member tools, should eliminate the mis-delivery of email associated with missing catch-all email aliases. -Kelsey and Russ

SSL Reboot.

We manually started the services and fixed the config file which should have started them automatically. Our web mail and SSL customers were affected for about 8 minutes while we diagnosed the problem. The server is now back up and functioning. -Matt and Kavan

Sat Jan 11 03:10:37 PST 2003 — Night Operations Completed: The installation of the new shelves and disks onto our NetApp cluster was uneventful and took only a few minutes to complete. We didn’t fare so well with the SMS upgrade and have had to postpone its upgrade until next week at least due to unforeseen circumstances. We did not interrupt service to any ADSL or FRATM users. -Kelsey, John, Nathan and Zeke.

Night Operations: Saturday the 11th, starting
Wed Jan 8 15:51:45 PST 2003 — Night Operations: Saturday the 11th, starting at 1:00AM we are going to perform some scheduled maintenance on our NetApp cluster to add additional storage capacity and upgrade the OS on our SMS 1800. Both of the NetApps have to be rebooted in the process of adding new disk shelves to the filers which will result in momentary outages for web, mail, shell and ftp services. Typically a NetApp is able to reboot in about a minute and we don’t expect any trouble from them. The SMS upgrade should take a bit longer as we will also be swapping a few cards out with our spare chassis (which has newer revision hardware) and upgrading to the latest ‘stable’ AOS release. We believe that this upgrade will resolve our periodic reboots as well as providing better features for management of the gear. While the SMS is being upgraded, all ADSL and FRATM customers will be off-line. This upgrade will not, however, affect BroadLink WDSL customers which are now terminated on their own SMS 500. -Kelsey, John, Nathan and Matt.

Our UU.net T3 is currently off-line.
Fri Dec 27 09:29:24 PST 2002 — Our UU.net T3 is currently off-line. We are in contact with their NOC and are working with them to bring it back on line as soon as possible. At this time we do not have an ETA. We will update the MOTD as soon as we have more information. -Kelsey and Nathan
Update: The UU.net T3 came back online just as we started to do testing with UU.net’s NOC. We will both be keeping a close eye on the circuit for the next few days to see if any other errors occur. We don’t believe that any customers should have noticed this outage as our other circuits were able to sustain the additional traffic load. -Kelsey and Nathan
