Tonight, October 11th, at midnight, we will be conducting updates on core voice infrastructure. Â The update will not impact active calls or call completion. Â For those using commportal, you may experience a brief interruption with the login process during the update while equipment is rebooting. Estimated maintenance window is 1 hour.

Update (2:26AM): Maintenance Complete
Beginning tonight at midnight, we will be performing maintenance on a small subset of Fiber DIA OPT-E-MAN circuits. This maintenance will not affect any ASE/SSE customers. The maintenance window for this procedure is 3 hours, but downtime is not expected to be more than 30 minutes.

Tonight, October 10, starting at midnight, we will be performing maintenance on core equipment serving our telecom network. Customers with private transport services may experience a brief disruption in traffic while a new best path is calculated.
Update(3:55am): Unexpected behavior from networking equipment caused an outage for customers at the Santa Rosa Sonic facility. All services have been restored and maintenance is now complete.

Tomorrow October 7th we will be moving all our non-roaming numbers to Sonic’s phone switch. This should be a seamless transition and the current number will not change.

Today, October 4, at 2:33pm, we are migrating away from a failed ATM card serving a subset of Sacramento ATM subscribers. Expected downtime is 5 minutes.

Tonight, October 6th at midnight, we will be updating a piece of core voice equipment.  During this time we do not expect any interruption in voice services, though you may experience a brief pause in call completion. Estimated maintenance time is 2 hours.

Tonight, beginning at midnight, we will be performing maintenance on Sonic Switched Ethernet circuits. The maintenance window for this procedure is 1 hour. No customer downtime is expected.

Beginning at midnight on Thursday, September 29th we will be performing cable repairs in Sebastopol. We expect the maintenance to continue through the night and anticipate completion by early morning. A small subset of Sonic Fiber customers in Sebastopol may experience intermittent or loss of service during the maintenance window.
Update(9/30 8:22am): We experienced complications during repairs and are still working as quickly as possible to restore service to affected customers. Estimated time to repair completion is one hour.
Update(9:26am): Backbone splicing is complete and we are now working to restore individual customer strands. Customers should begin to come back online over the next 30 minutes, at which point we are expecting all service to be restored.
Update(5:41pm): The outside plant team has isolated another issue and expects it to be resolved within 2 hours.
