Northern California Network Edge Maintenance

Update 4:04AM: This maintenance is now complete.

On March 23rd, starting at 2am, we will be performing maintenance on equipment serving the edge of the Sonic network. Customers may experience moments of routing instability, however, no connectivity interruption is expected. This maintenance window is 2 hours.

Fairfield Area Outage

Update 8:30am – Repairs are completed and the outage has been resolved. If you are still without service please contact customer support.

Update 2:45pm – We have determined that the issue is being caused by an upstream vendor and have opened escalated tickets with them to work on a resolution. We do not have an ETR currently, but will post an update as soon as we’re able.

Update 12:30pm – Our engineers are estimating the time to repair and restore service is 2 hours.

We are currently experiencing an outage in the Fairfield area. Our network engineers are aware of the issue and are currently investigating the issue.

Systems Maintenance

Update: Maintenance complete.

Update: This maintenance has been rescheduled for tonight 3-23 at 10PM PST.

Tonight beginning at 10PM PST we will be applying upgrades to our customer VPN server cluster.  As each node in the cluster is upgraded active sessions to it will be disconnected but your client should be able to reconnect immediately, and we expect to complete the maintenance within 1 hour.

Anaheim – Intrusive Maintenance for Fusion and FlexLink Copper Services

Thursday, 3/17/2022, starting at 11:59 PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance affecting Fusion and FlexLink copper customers in Anaheim. Expected down time within the maintenance window is approximately 30 min. The maintenance window is 4 hours.

Oakland – Fusion Fiber Intrusive Maintenance

Tomorrow night (3/16/22), starting at 2:00 AM, a subset of customers in the Oakland area will experience approximately 45 minutes of downtime while we perform upgrades to equipment serving them. The maintenance window will be 4 hours.

Tomorrow night (3/16/22), starting at 2:00 AM, a small subset of customers in the San Francisco area will experience a brief service interruption while we perform maintenance. The expected down time is about 15 minutes while equipment upgrades. The maintenance window will be 4 hours.

Calls not completing to Sonic

Update 2:55pm 3/07/2022 We were able to escalate with our inbound call provider, and worked with them to find a call routing problem on their side. We will continue to monitor the resolution with this. If you are still experiencing inbound calling issues please contact your support team.

Update: 10:00am 3/7/2022 We are still seeing instability with inbound calls to the Sonic network at this time. We are working with our carriers to resolve the issue.

Update: 7:00pm 3/6/22 We have been working with the underlying carrier to repair the issue.

Update: 6:15am 3/6/22 We are still working with our underlying carriers to get this resolved.

Update:  2:11pm – 3/5/22 We are still seeing some inbound calls unable to complete. We are working with our underline carriers to resolve this issue.

Update: 8:19am – 3/5/22 – an intermediate carrier on the call path towards Sonic has routed around the issue. Repeated testing and monitoring by Sonic over the last hour has yielded continuously successful calls. We believe this is now resolved. Please contact us you believe to be still affected.

Update 1:14pm – One of our underlying carriers has identified a widespread network issue, we are working with them to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

We are currently investigating an inbound to Sonic calling issue, from various carriers. Will update with further information.
