Mon Oct 14 11:16:50 PDT 2002 — Alteon Issues: Last night, at 8:42 our primary Alteon AD3 load balancer stopped forwarding L3 traffic. This is the second time we’ve observed this failure. We were quick to respond and reset the switch almost as it failed. Full services were restored in less than five minutes. We are in the process of re-engineering our SLB architecture to support improved redundancy and performance. Currently, we are testing the latest WebOS release for the AD3 in a fully meshed BGP and VRRP configuration on our warm spare AD3. -Kelsey

SpamAssassin Upgrades: We are now running two

Wed Oct 9 12:32:15 PDT 2002 — SpamAssassin Upgrades: We are now running two dedicated, load balanced SpamAssassin processing servers in preparation for the production release of our new SpamAssassin web based configuration tool and integrated web based graymail. Messages tagged as SPAM by SpamAssassin will by default be routed to a server-side junk mail folder which has a web based interface. This interface will allow users to delete, deliver or, whitelist and deliver the messages. Additionally, users will receive nightly notices of messages waiting for processing. Unprocessed graymail will automatically be deleted after 14 days. The graymail application should be ready for general use in the next few days. -Kelsey, Nathan and Chris B.
