Phone Switch Maintenance

Tonight starting at 11:59 PM we will be upgrading network hardware that
supports our phone switch. The planned maintenance should take 2 hours and
during that time, some call quality issues could occur for customers on
Sonic’s voice platform. An update will be provided when maintenance is
completed.

Inbound Mail Delays

We’re experiencing significantly above average inbound email flows at this time which has exceeded our spam filtering servers capacity.  These messages are queued locally pending available resources which may add a couple of minutes delay where delivery usually takes less than a second.  This is also resulting in a brief delay while sending outbound messages.  We’re bringing up additional resources now and expect to have the issue resolved soon.

Update: Additional resources have been deployed and this is no longer in issue.

-System Operations

Core Router Maintenance

Beginning tonight at midnight we will be performing maintenance on core routers. No customer downtime is expected as a result of this maintenance although users my notice some routing instability. The window for this maintenance is 3 hours.

Update 3:00AM – Maintenance is complete for tonight.

Phone Switch Maintenance

Tonight at 11:59 PM we will be performing maintenance on our phone switch. The
expected maintenance window is 2 hours with no service interruptions.

System Maintenance

Update: Maintenance complete.

Tonight at 11pm we will be performing updates to various systems including webmail and our VPN server. Downtime for effected systems is expected to be brief, and we should complete the maintenance within 2 hours.

San Francisco Fusion Fiber Emergency Maintenance

Tonight January 15, starting at 11:59PM we will performing maintenance on equipment serving a subset of Fusion Fiber customers in San Francisco. We are expecting customer downtime to be under 30 minutes.

Danville – Sonic Telecom Hardware Replacement

Tomorrow night (Thursday 1/10/19) at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on hardware serving Fusion and FlexLink customers in downtown Danville. Expected customer connectivity impact will be one hour. The maintenance window will last until 3AM.

Sunset District San Francisco – Fusion Fiber Maintenance

Tonight at 11:59PM we will performing maintenance on a subset of Fusion Fiber customers located in San Francisco’s Sunset District. Minimal to no customer impact is expected from tonight’s work, but a brief service interruption is possible. An update will be provided with maintenance is concluded.

Update: 2:00AM – Some customers may have experienced impacted connectivity 1-2AM due to unexpected circumstances. All work is complete and connectivity is restored.

Downtown Oakland – Sonic Telecom Hardware Replacement

Tomorrow night (Thursday 1/3/19) at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on hardware serving Fusion and FlexLink customers in downtown Oakland. Expected customer connectivity impact will be one hour. The maintenance window will last until 3AM.

Tonight, January 2, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing non-intrusive maintenance on internal network infrastructure. There is no expected service interruption. This maintenance window is one hour.
