Spam problems

Sonic customers have been aggressively targeted by spammers the past few days, and while we’ve been blocking them as they shift to different sources, it’s uncovered a few problems in our spam infrastructure that we’ve now fixed. These problems include a recently introduced bug in our spam servers that caused them to slowly overload until they couldn’t keep up with our normal mail load and allowed messages to go unchecked, and an error in our more targeted server blocking that meant some of our direct spam server blocks were not being honored.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused. We take our role in providing reliable email with a minimum of spam to our customers very seriously, and plan to continue providing the high level of service we have in the past.

Sonic Call Center Holiday Hours

Sonic Support and Inside Sales will close early on December 24th at 5pm. The Sonic call center will be closed on December 25th to observe the holiday, however our network operations teams will be staffed with on call technicians focusing on urgent hard down scenarios for enterprise users. We return on December 26th at 8am.

Phone Switch Maintenance

Update: 1:30 AM Maintenance is complete

December 11th, at 12:01 AM we will be performing maintenance on our phone switch. No voice service interruptions are expected as a result of this maintenance. The window for this maintenance is 3 hours.

Voice Services Outage

Services have remained stable, and we are officially considering this issue resolved. If you are still experiencing any issues with your voice services, please contact our technical support teams.

Our network engineering team has identified the issue and implemented a fix. At this point in time services appear stable and we are actively monitoring the situation.

 

Our network engineering team is currently investigating an issue impacting our voice services. This issue may affect your ability to make and receive calls.

System Maintenance

UPDATE: Maintenance complete

Tonight starting at 10pm we will be performing system updates to some customer facinrg systems, including:

  • IMAP/POP3
  • Webmail
  • Membertools

We don’t expect any noticable interuptions to those services.
