Sonic Telecom Hardware Replacement – Downtown Oakland

Tonight at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on hardware serving Sonic customers in downtown Oakland. Customer connectivity will be impacted for the duration of this work. The maintenance window will last until 3AM, but we expect work to conclude much sooner.

Fusion Fiber Maintenance – Sunset District San Francisco

Thursday (11/29/18) at 11:59PM we will performing intrusive maintenance on a subset of Fusion Fiber customers located in San Francisco’s Sunset District. Approximate expected customer downtime is 60 minutes or less. An update to this MOTD will be provided when all customer connectivity has been restored.

Sonic Telecom Emergency Maintenance – Berkeley

Some Sonic customers using copper based services in the Berkeley area may have began experiencing connectivity issues around 3:40pm this afternoon.  After investigating the issue, we determined the fastest path to resolution was emergency reload of the affected hardware.  This was performed around 4:10 and appears to have resolved the issue.  We are currently monitoring to verify it’s success.

Tonight at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on hardware serving Sonic customers in northeastern Santa Rosa.  Customer connectivity will be impacted for the duration of this work.  The maintenance window will last until 3AM, but we expect work to conclude much sooner.

San Francisco – Fusion and Flexlink network instability

Update: As of 11:05PM we believe we have identified and mitigated a router bug causing the issue.  We will troubleshoot further with our vendor to ensure the situation does not repeat.

Starting around 6:30PM this evening, a subset of business and residential copper served customers in San Francisco may be seeing short bursts of packet loss approximately every 30 minutes.  We are currently working to diagnose the cause and will provide update upon resolution.

Update: Maintenance was completed at 2:00AM (10/26/18).

Tonight (10/25/18) at 11:59PM we will performing intrusive maintenance on another subset of Fusion Fiber customers located in San Francisco’s Richmond District. Approximate expected customer downtime is 30 minutes. An update to this MOTD will be provided when all customer connectivity has been restored.

Thursday (10/18/18) at 11:59PM we will performing intrusive maintenance on another subset of Fusion Fiber customers located in San Francisco’s Richmond District. Approximate expected customer downtime is 30 minutes. An update to this MOTD will be provided when all customer connectivity has been restored.

Fusion Fiber Voice Issues – San Francisco Mission District

The bulk of voice service was restored at 5:15 PM when an emergency repair was engineered by our team.  It was determined additional manual intervention was necessary to restore voice for a small subset of customers, which we expect to be complete by 7:00PM.

 

At approximately 3:15 today, our support began getting reports of Fusion Fiber customers in the Mission reporting voice services down.  We are working to restore connectivity as quickly as possible and will update as more details become available.

Update: Maintenance complete.

Tomorrow night, September 23rd starting at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on equipment serving legacy DSL customers. Our maintenance window will be for one hour until 1:00AM, but actual expected customer downtime is only expected to be 10-15 minutes.
