Fusion/FlexLink Intrusive Maintenance – San Francisco

Update(3:20AM): This maintenance is now complete.

Beginning tonight at midnight, we will be performing maintenance on equipment serving a small portion of Fusion and FlexLink customers in the San Francisco area. This operation can cause downtime for up to a few hours in some cases.

Core Router Maintenance

Update(3:30am): This maintenance is now complete.

Beginning tomorrow morning at 3:00AM, I will be performing maintenance on a core router in the San Jose area. There should be no downtime as a result of this operation, however, users may notice traffic and routing changes.

Tonight at midnight a very small subset of Fusion and FlexLink Ethernet customers located in San Francisco will experience about 10 minutes of downtime due to emergency system maintenance needed to restore some network services.

Beginning tonight at midnight, we will be performing hardware and transport upgrades for a small portion of customers in San Francisco. Affected users will experience some routing changes and periods of downtime while the upgrades take place. This type of maintenance typically takes a few hours.

Non-Intrusive Voice Maintenance

Tonight starting at midnight, we will be performing maintenance updates to our Phone Switch.

There should be no issues placing or receiving calls during this time, however it is possible that you could experience a call drop, or call quality spikes during this time.

Estimated maintenance time is ~2 hours

Voice Network Maintenance

Tonight starting at midnight, we will be performing maintenance updates to our Phone Switch as well as servicing a device for some of our T1 voice connections.

There should be no issues placing calls during this time, however it is possible that you could experience a call drop, or call quality spikes during this time.  The phone switch should yield no problems during the update process, but the T1’s may have problems completing calls.

Expected maintenance time is ~2 hours

FlexLink Ethernet Maintenence – San Francisco

Tonight at midnight a very small subset of FlexLink Ethernet customers located in San Francisco will experience about 10 minutes of downtime due to emergency system maintenence needed to restore services to network features.

The same equipment is having extra work done tonight at midnight for a likely final round.

Legacy DSL Intrusive Maintenance

Beginning tonight at midnight we will be performing maintenance on equipment serving legacy DSL customers in Northern California. Users may notice their connection go up and down for 10-20 minutes at a time during this maintenance window.

Legacy DSL Outage – Chico area

Update(7:30AM): Customers affected by this outage should now be back online.

Update(12:10AM): Unfortunately this problem wasn’t as isolated as previously thought and another technician is being dispatched out to clear more equipment. More info once I receive it.

Update(8:30PM): Our provider is still working with their vendor to resolve this issue. It has been heavily escalated at this point and we are getting updates as quickly as we can.

Update (10:55AM): Our provider indicates that they have isolated the problem and will be dispatching a technician to perform the repair. No ETR given quite yet.

Update (7:25AM): We are still working with our transit provider for this area to locate and repair the problem.

We are currently experiencing an outage affecting legacy DSL users in the Chico area. The issue is still being investigated and we will update this message once we have an ETR.
