Sonic Telecom Core Maintenance

Update(2:50AM): Maintenance complete.

Tonight, July 10, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on core network equipment serving our telecom network. This includes Fusion and FlexLink Fiber/Copper services. No downtime is expected, however due to the nature of this maintenance subscribers may experience brief moments of routing instability. Maintenance window is 4 hours.

Northern California Edge Maintenance

Update(2:35am): An unexpected router bug caused a routing loop affecting traffic in our Santa Rosa data center for approximately 20 minutes. This would have affected local colo customers, as well as some internal Sonic infrastructure. Maintenance is complete and all services are restored.

 

Tonight, May 14, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on network edge equipment serving the Northern California Sonic network. Customers may experience brief intervals of routing instability as traffic is shifted to backup paths, however this maintenance should not cause any customer down time. This maintenance window is 4 hours.

San Francisco Fusion Fiber Emergency Maintenance

Update 4/20/19 12:38am: This maintenance is now complete.

Tonight, 4/19, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing emergency maintenance to mitigate an issue causing intermittent latency and packet loss towards a subset of Fusion Fiber customers. Customer down time is expected to be less than 10 minutes.

Peering Router Maintenance

This morning, starting at midnight, we performed hardware maintenance on a peering router in the core Sonic network. The maintenance was intended to have no customer impact, however due to a misconfigration,  customers may have experienced intermittent connectivity towards some internal resources for up to 30 minutes.

Legacy DSL Outage

This evening, March 9th, starting at around 10:05pm, equipment serving a subset of Legacy DSL subscribers experienced a port lockup. An emergency reboot of the affected equipment has restored all traffic. Customer down time was less than 25 minutes.

Albany Fusion Fiber Emergency Maintenance

Tonight, March 8, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing emergency maintenance on equipment serving a small subset of Fusion Fiber customers in Albany. Expected downtime is 10 minutes.
