Sonic Core Maintenance

Update(3:34am): Maintenance complete

Tonight, August 15, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on core equipment in Northern California. Customers may experience brief periods of routing instability, however no downtime is expected. This maintenance window is 4 hours.

Sunset District – Fiber Maintenance

Update: 2:00AM – Our work was successful and customer downtime was less than the expected 60 minute window.

Tomorrow (8/7/19) at 11:59PM, we will be performing upgrades on equipment serving residential fiber customers in the Sunset district of San Francisco. Connectivity will be impacted for a subset of customers during the course of this work. Our maintenance window will commence until 4:00AM, but we expect actual customer downtime of less than 60 minutes. An update will be provided on the completion of our work.

Update(2:00am): Maintenance is successfully completed. All impacted customers should be fully operational.

Update(2:40AM): Maintenance is complete.

Tonight, July 8, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on core network equipment serving our telecom network. This includes Fusion and FlexLink Fiber/Copper services. No downtime is expected, however due to the nature of this maintenance subscribers may experience brief moments of routing instability. Maintenance window is 4 hours.

Non-intrusive work in core POP

Tomorrow (3/14/19) at around 1:00PM, we will be removing decommissioned network hardware from a key facility.  This work should not cause any customer impact, but given it’s proximity to other critical infrastructure, there is a nominal chance of unintended events.  Our engineering team will be closely monitoring the procedure to ensure the work goes smoothly and quickly as possible.

Sunset District San Francisco – Fusion Fiber Maintenance

Tomorrow (3/7/19) at 11:59PM we will performing intrusive maintenance on a subset of Fusion Fiber customers located in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The maintenance window will run until 4AM, but we expect actual customer downtime to be a much shorter window. An update to this MOTD will be provided when all customer connectivity has been restored.
