A bug introduced this afternoon in our outbound mail filters would, under certain circumstances, add a non-compliant header to messages sent through mail.sonic.net.  While most servers we’re happy to accept these messages some systems refused to accept the messages.  A fix for the bug has already been released into production.  –Kelsey

For the past couple of hours we’ve been having issues with our DNS servers.  We just identified the source of the problem and should have it completely resolved in a few minutes.  As it turns out, this was a variance on the attacks that have caused us trouble in the past and was escaping the notice of our automated systems.  We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused!

Tonight at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on several customer facing services. During this time there may be brief interruptions of the following tools:

• Webmail
• Signup Form
• Custom Hosted Websites
• Member Tools
• Customer MySQL databases

6/19/14 – 12:42AM PDT – This Maintenance is now complete.

Tonight beginning at 11:59PM PDT we will be performing non-intrusive maintenance to equipment serving Fusion and Flexlink circuits in the bay area. This is a follow-up to the maintenance last night. No service impacts are expected.

Our list server has been upgraded with new hardware and a newer version of the mailman list software. Most importantly, the new dmarc_moderation_action has been set to “Munge From” for all lists on the server. This change will allow the server to rewrite the from header when sending messages to domains that would reject the email due to strict DMARC policies. This change will be most noticed by list users with yahoo.com and aol.com email addresses. I have started a forum post here for discussion: https://forums.sonic.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2139 . Today at 9:36AM customers in the San Carlos area area currently offline due to trouble with a router in the area. We are currently investigating the cause of the problem and will update once we have an ETR.

Update: 10:50am We have a technician being dispatch to the central office ETA 12:50pm

Update: 1:26pm Our technician is on site and replacing the failed piece of equipment. ETR 2:00pm

Update: 1:54pm – Service restored as of 1:45PM PDT.
