Toll Free Calling Issue

Update 2:15 PM – We’ve verified all reported incidents have been resolved.  If your are still experiencing any issues with your Toll Free and LA phone services please contact the Sonic Network Operations.  Thank you.

Update 2:01 PM – We believe we’ve resolved the issue with calls not connecting to Toll Free and LA numbers. We are testing to verify all reported incidents have been resolved.  Thank you for your patience.

Update: 1:45 PM – Our engineering team is still working with our upstream carrier to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.  Still no ETR. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Update 1:15PM – Our engineering team is attempting to route around the upstream carrier with the issue. We will continue to work with our upstream carrier to resolve the issue on their network as well. We will continue to update this post as we get more information. Thank you for your patience.

We are currently investigating an upstream carrier issue causing calls to our customers’ toll free numbers to fail. Enterprise customers with voice services in the LA area are likely effected as well. We will update this post as soon as we have an ETR.

Fiber DIA outage

12/12/2018 9:40AM – A subset of our Fiber DIA customers are experiencing connectivity issues.  Our team is working with our fiber vendor to restore connectivity as quickly as possible and will update as more details become available. There is currently no ETR.

Update: 9:44AM – Our Fiber vendor believes they have isolated the root cause of this issue and are currently moving to fix connectivity issue.  There is still currently no ETR.

Update: 10:34AM – We believe we’ve been able to resolve all the reported connectivity issues for our Fiber DIA customers. If you believe you’re experiencing any residual connectivity problems on the Fiber DIA platform please notify us at the Sonic Network Operations.  Thank you for your patience.

System Maintenance

This maintenance is now complete.

Update: This maintenance has been rescheduled for tonight, December 12th, at 11:00pm.

Tonight at 10:30pm we will be performing upgrades to systems including custom hosting containers and members tools. The expected downtime should be brief and we expect to complete the maintenance within 2 hours.

Small outage in Lafayette

Currently experiencing a small Fusion DSL outage in Lafayette CA. No estimated repair time as of yet.

Sonic Telecom Hardware Replacement – Downtown Oakland

Tonight at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on hardware serving Sonic customers in downtown Oakland. Customer connectivity will be impacted for the duration of this work. The maintenance window will last until 3AM, but we expect work to conclude much sooner.

Santa Rosa Fusion DSL and FlexLink Maintenance

Tuesday, December 4, starting at 11:59PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance on equipment serving Fusion DSL and FlexLink products in the Santa Rosa area. Approximate expected customer downtime is 30 minutes or less.

System Maintenance

Update: Maintenance complete.

Tonight starting at 11pm we will be updating various systems which may result in downtime for some services including some areas within member tools and the VPN server.  Any service downtime should be brief, and we expect to complete the maintenance within 2-3 hours.

Brief DNS Outage

Sonic DNS servers experienced a brief outage this morning starting at approximately 11:40. Services were restored within fifteen minutes. During the outage web browsing would have given errors.

We are investigating the root cause of this outage and will update appropriately.

 

Update: The root cause was a misconfigured security policy module propagated across the DNS cluster. Technical and policy steps to prevent this issue from occurring again have been identified and will be implemented.
