Wednesday, February 1st, starting at 11:59pm, we will be performing maintenance on core equipment in the Los Angeles Sonic network. No customer impact is expected. This maintenance window is 2 hours.

Tonight 2/1/2023 at 11:59pm we will be performing maintenance on equipment serving our Enterprise Fiber customers in the Santa Rosa area. Those affected should have been directly notified. The expected downtime is 20 minutes while equipment updates. The maintenance window is 4 hours.

Today, starting at 3:05PM, a configuration change caused instability for a portion of our voice network. Some subscribers will have seen issues with incoming and outgoing calls. The outage duration was approximately 30 minutes. We will be taking steps to ensure configuration mistakes of this nature will be caught during the validation process.
Update: 5:29AM: This maintenance is now complete.
Update 3:35AM: Almost all users are back up, but some customer routers are hanging on to an old DHCP lease. Please try restarting your router if you’re still having issue’s. We are still working on this.
Update 1:04AM: Something unexpected happened with our equipment during this night op and cause more down time than expected. The service is being slowly brought back up. I’m expecting most users to back up by 1:30AM.
Tonight, starting at 11:59 PM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance affecting a subset of fiber customers in the Oakland. The expected down time is approximately 10 minutes. The maintenance window is 2 hours.

Update (12:42am) Maintenance is complete
Jan 10th, 2023, at 11:59 PM we will be performing maintenance on our phone switch. No service interruptions are expected as a result of this maintenance. The window for this maintenance is 4 hours.

This morning Sonic noticed routing instability within our network and began emergency maintenance on the affected equipment to bring back normal network operations. This instability affected many of our enterprise circuits. We are currently in the process of restoring normal IPv4 and IPv6 routing for these circuits and believe the issue is resolved. If you are still having issues with your enterprise circuit you can reach out to our Network Operations Center.
Sonic support will close early at 5:00pm on 12/31/2022. We will return to normal operating hours on 1/1/2023 at 8:00am.
