Los Angeles – Fusion DSL Intrusive Maintenance

Update 12:12AM: This maintenance is now complete.

Tonight, starting at 11:59 PM, a small subset of customers in the Los Angeles area will experience a brief service interruption while we perform some maintenance. The expected down time is about 15 minutes while the equipment reboots. The maintenance window will be 2 hours.

Power Outage at Santa Rosa Data Center

Update: Power has been restored to our Santa Rosa location.

 

We are currently experiencing a power outage at our Santa Rosa main office. The backup generator system is functioning correctly, so there is no interruption of service at this time. PG and E has an ETR of 1:15pm.

San Francisco – Emergency Fusion Fiber Maintenance

Update 5/7/21 2:37AM: This maintenance is now complete.

Tomorrow (5/7/21) morning starting at 2:00AM, we are performing emergency maintenance on hardware serving a subset of Fusion Fiber customers in the San Francisco. The expected down time is approximately 10-30 minutes. The maintenance window is 2 hours. An update will be provided on conclusion of the work.

System Maintenance

Tonight (May 6 2021) beginning at 10PM we will be applying updates to multiple systems including our VPN servers. Any downtime should be very brief, and we expect to complete the maintenance within 2 hours.

Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Moraga, Hercules, San Ramon – Intrusive Maintenance for Fusion and FlexLink Copper Services

Update:  5:10am Equipment replaced and service is restored.

Update 4:30am We are in the process of replacing a failed piece of equipment in Oakland.

Update 2:20am Maintenance has been postponed

Thursday, 5/06/21, starting at 2:00 AM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance affecting Fusion and FlexLink copper customers in Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Moraga, Hercules, and San Ramon. Expected down time within the maintenance window is approximately 30 min. The maintenance window is 2 hours.

Address qualification system maintenance

Beginning at midnight tonight we will be upgrading systems related to address qualification. During this time looking up certain addresses on sonic.com/availability may return an error. Our maintenance window for this work is one hour.

Update 12:45am: Work is complete.

Sonic Fiber Network Maintenance

Update: As of approximately 10:15am all services, both data and voice were restored. RFO to follow.

Update: 8:40am – For the remaining customers that are still without service, we are currently working with our hardware vendor’s engineering team to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Update 7:29am – A large portion of the remaining subscribers have had their services restored, however we are still pushing to bring back the remaining circuits. At this time the root cause of the problem is unknown, but we have a procedure to bring subscribers up incrementally that we will continue to exercise.

Update 6:29am – The service migration has failed to restore service for a number of customers. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible and will provide updates hourly.

Update 4:46am – We have isolated the cause of the issue and are working to resolve by migrating services to restore connectivity.

Update: Some customers in the Albany area are experiencing intermittent connectivity. We are investigating the root cause and will post updates as they become available. The remaining customers in other regions are back online.

Tuesday, 04/27/21, starting at 2:00 AM, we will be performing intrusive maintenance affecting residential and small business Fusion Fiber service in the east bay and Burlingame regions. Expected telephone and internet access downtime within the maintenance window is approximately 30 min as we perform system upgrades on the affected central office hardware. The maintenance window is 2 hours.

System Maintenance

Update: Maintenance complete.

Tonight beginning at 10PM we will be upgrading servers that are part of our custom hosting platform.  This maintenance will result in brief downtime for affected hosting containers, and we expect the maintenance to be completed within 2 hours.

Nor-Cal Core Network Maintenance

Tuesday, April 27th, starting at 11:59pm PST, we will be performing updates to transport equipment serving our core network. These upgrades are expected to be non-intrusive. This maintenance window ends at 4am.
