Network Reachability Issues

We have been receiving reports this morning of issues reaching hosts in the Sonic network from external sources. We are currently investigating this issue and will provide more information once it becomes available.

-Tim, Nathan, and the NOC

Update: We have narrowed down the problem to our upstream provider Level 3. There was a routing issue inside of their network that has since been resolved. We have confirmed that any connectivity issues should be resolved at this point.

  2. Appears to be improving. Connections from Sprint DS3 and from Comcast Business are at full speed and stable.

  3. There was apparently problems with the routing outbound, and not just inbound. Our DSL was affected because we couldn’t reach some websites, while we could reach other websites. Our issue cleared up once this one did.

  4. Ben,

Yes, everything is bidirectional on the Internet – the problems at Level3 affected customers on the far side trying to get here, and conversely customers here trying to get to assets on the far side of their problem.
