  1. I am sending this message via Verizon wireless. I am a sonic DSL subscriber in Fremont (zip code 94555). My DSL has been offline since Tuesday evening. I wanted to know if you have found the cause of the problem, and when will you be able to restore service.

  2. Hello! Our current ETR is 3/16. We are working with AT&T to ensure our customers are back up and running as quickly as possible.

    Best Wishes!

  3. For those impacted by this Legacy DSL outage, here is what I have heard:

    – It appears to have started March 9th, sometime after 3pm.
    – Reportedly there was some kind of AT&T equipment failure and they are supposedly working on it.
    – The outage is affecting certain DSL customers all over the Northern California region.

This is based on what I have been told. I am one of the DSL customers presently offline. I am sure the Sonic team will be keeping tabs on this situation.

  4. Update: I plugged in our Sonic-branded Pace 4111N modem around 10am this morning and seem to be back online (San Mateo County). So far (now 12:45pm) I have not received any notices or updates on the Legacy DSL issue. Just did my daily plug-in check.

Has the Sonic team received any updates or confirmation that this issue has been resolved, or just a temporary fix?

    Thank you.

  5. Follow-up:

Since at least 10 am on March 12 our Legacy DSL has been back online and testing at expected speeds (5.1 up/0.6+ down). I am uncertain when exactly our service came back as I only discovered this mid-morning while doing my daily modem check.

Checking with Sonic support yesterday after 1 pm, I heard that AT&T was still maintaining their ETR of March 16. As such I do not know if our region has been repaired ahead of others, there is a possibility of going offline again, but so far so good.

Our return to online status is interesting as other Sonic DSL customers were still down yesterday afternoon.

  6. Hi Sasha,
Service should now be functional. If you have any outstanding issues, please give our customer care team a call at your earliest convenience so we can get you back online.
