Spam problems

Sonic customers have been aggressively targeted by spammers the past few days, and while we’ve been blocking them as they shift to different sources, it’s uncovered a few problems in our spam infrastructure that we’ve now fixed. These problems include a recently introduced bug in our spam servers that caused them to slowly overload until they couldn’t keep up with our normal mail load and allowed messages to go unchecked, and an error in our more targeted server blocking that meant some of our direct spam server blocks were not being honored.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused. We take our role in providing reliable email with a minimum of spam to our customers very seriously, and plan to continue providing the high level of service we have in the past.
