VPN Upgrade: Enable IPv6

Update: This configuration change has been implemented.  Please refer to the below listed forum thread if you have any questions.

On Tuesday, September 1st we will be modifying the configuration of our main VPN server so that IPv6 addresses will be pushed to clients along with the standard IPv4 address. Your client should reconnect automatically after the server is restarted to implement the new configuration. If you would like to test this functionality prior to the scheduled date our beta vpn server (beta.vpn.sonic.net) is currently set up with v6 enabled. If you have any comments, questions, or issues after testing on the beta server please go to this forum and post a reply: https://forums.sonic.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16576
Thanks for choosing Sonic!

  1. Hi, I called & spoke w/tech support but they weren’t familiar enough w/this topic & suggested I post questions here. My connection is through DSL. Is it expected the dual stack functionality will improve the connection? I download the program but haven’t installed it yet. If it doesn’t wok well with my system, how do I restore the settings I had? Likewise, if this is rolled out in Sept, will it affect my system regardless of whether I’ve done the install? Thanks for advice.

  2. Hi David, this change to the VPN shouldn’t negatively affect your connection. If you do experience service issues please let us know!
